Story (via IGDB, in English)

A city teenager arrives in the sleepy rural town of Inaba to live with relatives for a year while his parents work abroad. His quiet new life is upended when a string of bizarre, unexplained murders grips the town, the victims found hanging in impossible ways amid a creeping fog. A local rumor claims that gazing into a switched-off television on a rainy midnight reveals a hidden face, and when the protagonist and his new schoolmates investigate, they are pulled into a strange, fog-shrouded realm that exists inside the TV. There they meet a curious creature and awaken to the power of Persona, manifestations of their inner selves. Realizing the murders are tied to this eerie other world, the friends form an Investigation Team, balancing everyday school life, friendships, and part-time jobs with dangerous journeys into the TV World as they race to uncover the truth behind the killings.

About this project

The README separates first-party code, Atlus's game and engine, from the whole program, which also includes the Sony SDK and middleware; its headline progress figures count first-party code. Its status table is the last committed report rather than a fresh measurement, which the verify step provides. As of Oct 18, 2026, no Persona 4 PC port meets Recompedia's inclusion rules.

FAQ

Does the Persona 4 decompilation make a PC version?

No. It rebuilds the PS2 executable from decompiled C. No Persona 4 PC port is listed on Recompedia as of Oct 18, 2026.

Which Persona 4 disc does the decompilation need?

The USA v1.00 release, executable SLUS_217.82, matching the Redump record linked in the README.

Does Recompedia provide the game, ROM or BIOS?

No. Recompedia does not host or link to ROMs, ISOs, BIOS files or game assets. Persona4-Decompilation ships no game code or data either; it needs a disc image made from a copy of the game you own.
