n64decomp/007 is a decompilation of GoldenEye 007, a GitHub mirror of the main repository, that rebuilds C source matching the original Nintendo 64 ROMs. It is In Progress and tracks NTSC and PAL progress separately. It builds an N64 ROM, not a PC program, and no GoldenEye PC port is listed here.

How to build it

  1. Dump your own GoldenEye 007 cartridge and check it against the SHA-1 the README lists for the US (ge007.u.z64), Japanese (ge007.j.z64) or European (ge007.e.z64) release.
  2. Clone the repository and install the build dependencies described in its README.
  3. Place your ROM where the README specifies and build; the output is a matching N64 ROM.

Story (via IGDB, in English)

Set during the Cold War and its aftermath, GoldenEye 007 follows James Bond, an agent of the British Secret Intelligence Service. The story opens with a covert operation at a Soviet chemical weapons facility, where Bond and fellow 00-agent Alec Trevelyan infiltrate the site before the mission goes wrong. Years later, Bond is drawn into an investigation surrounding GoldenEye, a space-based weapon capable of firing an electromagnetic pulse that disables electronics across a targeted area. As the trail leads through Russia and beyond, Bond works alongside computer programmer Natalya Simonova to uncover who controls the weapon and to stop the criminal syndicate known as Janus from turning it against the world.

About this project

A matching decompilation is checked by a single rule: the rebuilt code must produce exactly the original ROM. The project publishes separate status pages for its NTSC and PAL progress. As of Oct 18, 2026, no GoldenEye 007 PC port meets Recompedia's inclusion rules, so this page covers the decompilation itself; decompilations of this kind are what native ports are later built on.

FAQ

Is there a GoldenEye 007 PC port?

None is listed on Recompedia as of Oct 18, 2026. n64decomp/007 is a decompilation that rebuilds the N64 ROM.

Which GoldenEye ROMs does the decomp support?

The US, Japanese and European releases, each identified by the SHA-1 in the README.

Does Recompedia provide the game, ROM or BIOS?

No. Recompedia does not host or link to ROMs, ISOs, BIOS files or game assets. n64decomp/007 ships no game code or data either; it needs a ROM dumped from a cartridge made from a copy of the game you own.
