Burnout 3: Takedown Recompiled
burnout3-pc runs Burnout 3: Takedown natively on Windows: the PS2 program is translated to C++ and compiled, not emulated, at 60 frames a second and up to 4x the PS2's resolution, with widescreen and the HUD kept in place. It is In Progress, released as an alpha. It is unofficial and not affiliated with Electronic Arts or Criterion Games.

About this project
It needs 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 and a Vulkan 1.3 graphics driver. A processor without AVX2, such as Intel Pentium and Celeron chips from before 2021, gets a separate SSE4 build that burnout3.exe starts by itself. The game's own menus gain PC settings and mouse support, controllers have rumble, and LAN play works between players on the same network. As an alpha, the project asks for bug reports with the log file it writes next to the executable.
