Zelda on PC: Twilight Princess and Wind Waker
Published Oct 19, 2026 · 1 min

Twilight Princess: playable now
Dusklight is the native Twilight Princess PC port: a reverse-engineered reimplementation built on the zeldaret/tp decompilation, playable on PC and Android from every commercial GameCube and Wii disc except the Korean Wii release. It adds options and enhancements over the original and updates regularly.
It needs a GPU with Direct3D 12, Vulkan 1.1 or Metal; Direct3D 11 and OpenGL ES on Android are best-effort. As with everything listed here, you supply the game: it reads a dump of your own disc.
Wind Waker: the decompilation route
The Wind Waker has no recomp and no port yet. What it has is zeldaret/tww, a matching decompilation that rebuilds the game's GameCube code as C++ compiling back into a byte-identical executable, covering all commercial releases including the Japanese kiosk demo.
That matters because ports grow out of decomps. Twilight Princess followed exactly that path, and the Wind Waker page here tracks the decompilation's progress, version by version.

Ocarina and Majora
The other two 3D Zeldas are already covered. Majora's Mask has Zelda64Recompiled, a static recompilation playable on all three desktop systems. Ocarina of Time has Ship of Harkinian, a port built from its decompilation, and a second recompilation has been announced by the same team behind the Majora's Mask port.
What to watch
None of this is official; Nintendo has not endorsed any of it. The projects' own repositories remain the source of truth, and the Zelda pages here link to them directly, with status and last update on every row.
Recompedia does not host or link to ROMs, BIOS files or game assets. Every project listed requires a copy of the original game owned by the player.
