ICO PC Port v0.8.1: Disc Versions & Devices
Published Oct 22, 2026 · 2 min

Three PS2 discs are supported
The latest synced release of ico-pc is v0.8.1. Its README names three compatible PlayStation 2 discs: the European release SCES-50760, the Japanese release SCPS-11003 and the Korean release SCPS-56001. The American disc and other editions do not work. The serial is printed on the disc and case, and the project asks users to check it before setting up the game.
That version list is useful because a generic search for an ICO PC port can hide an important compatibility detail: owning the game is not enough if it is the wrong regional release. The port accepts an image of any of those three discs, and each one can be used with the same device-specific build.
Where the port runs
The project publishes builds for 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, Linux on x86-64, Steam Deck, 64-bit ARM Linux handhelds, Android 10 or newer, iPhone on iOS 15 or newer through LiveContainer, and Apple-silicon Mac on macOS 12 or newer. Windows is the maintainer's main test machine; Linux is tested automatically for every release and Steam Deck is supported. The maintainer says iPhone and Apple-silicon Mac builds are not tested on their own devices.
For graphics, the Windows build draws with Vulkan or Direct3D 12. The same game code runs on each supported device, while the platform-specific package supplies the native program.

How installation works
Make a disc image from one of the three supported copies you own. The project supports ISO, CHD and BIN images; BIN images usually come with a CUE file, which also works. About 1 GB of free space is needed for the extracted game files. The project's download page selects a build for your device, or you can choose one from its GitHub releases.
After extracting or installing the package, start ICO and point it to your image when prompted. On Linux and Steam Deck, the first launch is done from Desktop Mode; the README then explains how to add the game to Steam for Game Mode. iPhone uses LiveContainer rather than the App Store.
What kind of PC port is it?
ico-pc is built on the nathanialf/ico decompilation, which rebuilds the PAL boot ELF with the original toolchain. It is not a traditional emulator and it is not a static recompilation of a single executable. The port runs the game's own code as a normal program on each host platform and reads the copyrighted game assets from the player's disc image. Recompedia does not distribute game files.
Recompedia does not host or link to ROMs, BIOS files or game assets. Every project listed requires a copy of the original game owned by the player.
